Penn College’s North Campus to Host Financial Classes

The North Campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will host three financial classes/seminars in October.

“Financial Strategies for Retirement in Today’s Market” will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6-8 p.m. A “Debt-Free Living Workshop” will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 6-9 p.m. “Advanced QuickBooks,” with an expanded format, will be held on Tuesdays, Oct. 16-30, from 6-9 p.m.

“Financial Strategies for Retirement in Today’s Market” will be beneficial for people thinking about retirement and for those already retired. The program reviews possible investment opportunities, as well as basic investment strategies. The seminar will cover personal factors that should be considered when planning for retirement. The cost for the program is $19.

The “Debt-Free Living Workshop” is designed for people who would like to live a debt-free, stress-free lifestyle. Participants will learn how to pay off all their consumer debt in one to three years and their 30-year mortgage in three to four years. Participants may bring their own personal financial information and will go home with a plan of action to begin to get out of debt. The cost for the program is $69.

The “Advanced QuickBooks” class will be helpful to those who have some basic knowledge of QuickBooks and would like to learn more advanced features of this widely used accounting software. Participants will learn to effectively interact with the QuickBooks user interface to create reports, maximize the efficiency of forms, use business services, improve handling of sales taxes, explore job estimating, and learn tips and tricks for more flexible navigation within QuickBooks Pro. The class will help those with a small business or nonprofit organization to manage complex financial accounts with confidence. The cost for the class is $169.

All of the classes have been developed by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College. Space is limited; early registration is recommended.

The North Campus is located 3 miles east of Wellsboro on Route 6.
