Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Le Jeune Chef Restaurant was named an “Award of Excellence” winner by Wine Spectator magazine.

Wine Spectator is the largest paid wine-focused/wine-lifestyle magazine, reaching more than 3 million readers with each issue. The magazine’s annual Restaurant Awards program recognizes the most exciting wine lists around the world. Honorees are published in its August issue.



Penn College’s Le Jeune Chef Restaurant has again earned an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. The restaurant, which offers a teaching-learning environment for faculty and students, has been honored by Wine Spectator every year since 1995.This year’s list comprises 3,759 restaurants from 50 states and more than 75 countries whose passion for wine makes them singular dining destinations for wine lovers.

Wine Spectator grants its Restaurant Awards at three levels. The Award of Excellence, received by Le Jeune Chef, signifies sufficient choice to satisfy discerning wine lovers.

Le Jeune Chef Restaurant’s wine list offers 500 selections, encompassing major varieties from the world’s key wine-producing regions, with strengths in California, France and Italy wines. The restaurant has been recognized in the Wine Spectator Restaurant Guide each year since 1995.

Wine Spectator awardThe restaurant’s extensive wine list allows Penn College’s hospitality management and culinary arts students to gain hands-on experience in wine service and food-and-wine pairings, while the restaurant’s educational atmosphere allows patrons to learn more about wines, as well.

Only 88 of the 2018 Restaurant Award recipients are in Pennsylvania.
