Penn College Wrestlers Finish First Half

Closing out the first half of its season at the 85th annual Wilkes University Open Friday afternoon, Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers finished 33rd in a field of 51 schools represented.



Penn College’s Dan Bergeron, of Jackson, New Jersey, at 157 pounds, and Nicholas Bruce, of Troy, at 184, both ended the day 1-2 with wins by major decisions to account for the Wildcats’ 3.5 points. American University took the team competition with 145 points and had two individual champions among its 10 place winners.

Also for Penn College, Christian Fox, of Boyertown, at 133; Bailey Forte, of Barnesville, at 285; and Dylan Otis, of Wyalusing, also at 285, all ended 0-2.

The Wildcats now are idle until Jan. 6, when they compete in the North-South Duals at Ursinus College.
