Penn College to Offer Sigma Beta Delta Honor-Society Chapter

Pennsylvania College of Technology has received approval for a campus chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society for Business, Management, and Administration.
The Penn College Sigma Beta Delta chapter was officially accepted Dec. 3. Invitations will be extended to qualified students in February, and the first members will be inducted in April.
To be eligible for membership, business students must be enrolled in a bachelor-degree major, rank in the top 20 percent of their class academically, have a 3.5 grade-point average in their major at the time of the invitation, and must have completed 50 percent of their degree program.
Faculty officers for the Penn College chapter of Sigma Beta Delta are: Dr. Gerald D. "Chip" Baumgardner, associate professor of business administration, president; Dr. Terry A. Girdon, professor of business administration, vice president; and Dr. Irwin H. Siegel, associate professor of business administration, secretary-treasurer.
Nationally, Sigma Beta Delta has 20,000 members in 189 chapters in 42 states. It is based at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
The purposes of Sigma Beta Delta are "to encourage and recognize scholarship and achievement among students of business, management and administration, and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind."
