Penn College to Hold Commencement Ceremonies May 14-15

Three commencement ceremonies all at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport will be held May 14-15 for more than 900 students who have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology following the Spring 2010 semester.

On Friday, May 14, at 3 p.m., a ceremony will be offered for students from the schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Hospitality, and Transportation Technology.

On Saturday, May 15, at 10 a.m., a ceremony will be held for students from the schools of Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Integrated Studies, and Natural Resources Management.

The final commencement ceremony will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on May 15 for students graduating from the schools of Construction and Design Technologies and Health Sciences.

The student speaker for the May 14 ceremony will be Alyssa J. Giedroc, of Howard, who will receive a bachelor's degree in technology management.

Speaking at the 10 a.m. ceremony on May 15 will be Garrett M. Book, of Lebanon, who will be awarded an associate degree in ornamental horticulture: landscape technology emphasis.

The student speaker for the 1:30 p.m. ceremony on May 15 will be Kathryn A. Foster, of Hummelstown, who will receive a bachelor's degree in nursing.

During the ceremonies, the college will bestow an Alumni Achievement Award. In addition, the Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award and Excellence in Teaching Awards will be presented.

Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour, assisted by Board of Directors Chairman Robert E. Dunham.
