A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is the recipient of a $4,000 scholarship through The Pennsylvania State University LGBTA Student Resource Center for his work to ensure that the campus, a special mission affiliate of Penn State, is a “welcoming and friendly place” for all students.

The Bruce Miller/Dean LaVigne Trustee Scholarship awarded to Seth D. Veneziano, a culinary arts technology student from Bellefonte, will be acknowledged in a May 9 ceremony – to be attended by the scholarship benefactors – on Penn State’s University Park campus.

“I am very grateful to be awarded this scholarship and hope that, one day, I, too, can give back and positively impact students’ lives,” said Veneziano, who is involved with PC Alliance, Penn College’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied student group.

“He is working to make the organization on campus successful, hosting events, fundraisers and meetings, while also supporting the local community through work with the AIDS Resource Center,” the scholarship announcement notes.
