Kelly E. Rockwell, of Trout Run, received a trophy, a medal and a $200 cash prize for her butterfly-themed wedding cake. She is one of six Penn College students enrolled in an advanced cake decorating course who took their multitiered wedding cakes to the Expo for competition on March 18-19.

The cakes were among 25 entries in the extravaganza's student/beginner category, which is set aside for decorators who have less than two years of experience. The competition was sponsored by CSM Bakery Products.

Presented every two years by the New York State Association of Retail Bakers and the New Jersey Bakers Board of Trade, the Atlantic Bakery Expo is the largest bakery exposition on the East Coast.

From there, they will be exhibited at the Pennsylvania ICES (International Cake Exploration Societé) State Cake Show at the Nittany Mall in State College on April 14-15.
