A poster, a public television show, a television ad and a magazine produced by Pennsylvania College of Technology earned awards recently in a national competition sponsored by Admissions Marketing Report magazine.

AMR's 17th Annual Admissions Advertising Awards competition bestowed Silver awards upon the College's "You're the Chef" cooking series and a full-color poster featuring a photographic collage of students and campus facilities.

The poster was first distributed to new students during Fall 2001 orientation. The cooking-series episode honored in the competition was entitled, "Italian Night."

"This is the Real World," a television ad developed and produced by students and staff in the departments of Instructional Media & Distance Learning and College Information & Community Relations, earned a Merit award from AMR. The ad, which was broadcast to promote Fall Visitation and Open House events at the College, featured on-camera testimonials from Penn College students.

"One College Avenue," the College's quarterly magazine, also received a Merit award for 2001 issues featuring "After Hours," "Caring for Nature's Community," and "Technology Inspires Creativity & Craftsmanship" themes. The magazine is distributed to 44,500 alumni, students, prospective students and supporters of the College.

Admissions Marketing Report is a monthly magazine covering "the rapidly changing and competitive admissions marketing field." Its annual advertising awards competition compares the work of public and private colleges and universities from around the nation.
