Four Penn College team members made the cut as the Penn State University Athletic Conference announced its Softball All-Conference Team this past week.  Sophomore Rachael Shaeffer (Hampstead, Maryland) and freshman Jessica Gmerek (Bellefonte) earned first-team honors, while freshman Arika Stopper (Williamsport) was second-team and sophomore Katie Kratzer (Lynch Station, Virginia) was an honorable mention. The all-conference team is based on athletic performance and voted on by the coaches of the member institutions of the PSUAC.  Shaeffer and Gmerek were standouts for the Lady Wildcats.  Shaeffer led the team with a .469 batting average totaling 19 RBIs and two home runs.  Gmereak was no slouch either hitting .367 with a team-leading 26 RBIs and four home runs. Stopper was the workhorse on the mound for Penn College, leading the team in wins with 11 and in ERA with 2.85.   She also struck out 109 batters on the year.  Kratzer also had a strong year with a .310 batting average and 11 RBIs.
