Fields and forests provide an abundance of edible plants and fruits. For those wishing to learn how to distinguish edible wild plants from those that should not be eaten, a one-of-a-kind class will be offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s North Campus near Wellsboro.
Two sections of the four-hour noncredit class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, and Saturday, June 19. The cost is $29.
Instructor Bibi Snelderwaard will hold the class at her home near Liberty. She’ll demonstrate for participants how to grow and harvest plants that they will enjoy.
The class includes a short hike near a creek to identify plants, with a return to the kitchen to discover recipes and methods of preparation for healthy meals and beverages.
