Penn College Names Alumni Relations Director

Pennsylvania College of Technology has appointed Tammy M. Rich as director of alumni relations.

Rich, who had been employed as executive director of alumni relations and special events at Lock Haven University, began her duties at Penn College on March 3.

“We are pleased to have Tammy join the Institutional Advancement team,” said Barry R. Stiger, vice president for institutional advancement. “Tammy’s experience with alumni relations, special events and annual giving at Lock Haven University are closely related to her responsibilities in the position of alumni relations here at Penn College. I am looking forward to introducing Tammy to our alumni from Williamsport Technical Institute, Williamsport Area Community College and Pennsylvania College of Technology.”



Tammy M. RichRich had worked at Lock Haven University since 2000, also serving as director of annual giving for the Lock Haven University Foundation and as a member of numerous college committees. Prior to her work at Lock Haven University, she was employed in sales capacities within the hotel and resort industry.

She earned her doctoral degree in organization and management, management education, from Capella University in 2012 as well as a post-master’s certificate in college teaching from Capella in 2009. She attained a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in 2006, a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Northwood University in 1994, and an associate degree in advertising from Northwood in 1993.

Rich is an online adjunct instructor for the University of California, Los Angeles, teaching two sections of “Principles of Fundraising” for a new online certificate program in nonprofit management.

In addition to presentations at Lock Haven University, Rich has given event-planning and giving-strategies presentations to the Pennsylvania Parks and Recreation Society and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Since 2008, she has served as secretary of the Lock Haven Catholic School Parent-Teacher Organization. She was a member of the Lock Haven Area YMCA Board of Directors from 2008-11.
