Penn College Hosting PCAA Bowling Championships This Weekend

Three Pennsylvania College of Technology bowlers are hoping to repeat as state champions during the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association championships this weekend at Faxon Lanes in Loyalsock Township.
Singles and doubles action begins at 1 p.m. Saturday. Team competition will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Penn College's Kelli Fazekas (Easton) is the defending all-events titleholder, Fazekas and Janelle Badger (Lewisburg) will defend their women's doubles crown and those two and Melisa Klees (Loyalsock Township) will seek their second straight women's team title.
"Since it's our home court, our outlook is pretty high," said Penn College coach Lisa Worth.
"For the females, Northampton County Community College is pretty strong, and the Penn State Scranton men won the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference tournament. But we've been practicing a lot and look to have a few state champions," Worth continued.
In addition to Penn College, Northampton and Penn State Scranton, other teams will include Lehigh Carbon Community College, Johnson College, Central Penn, Allegheny Community College North and Allegheny Community College South.
In all, state championships will be decided in eight divisions men's and women's singles, doubles, all-events and team competition.
Fazekas, Badger and Klees will compete in all of the women's categories, while Lady Wildcat Lisa Ulrich (Wyalusing) competes in women's singles and doubles only.
For the Penn College men, Tim McMahon (Williamsport), Jason Tolley (Twin Valley), Sean Garczynski (Windber), Jarret Walter (Selinsgrove) and Paul Keeney (Northeast Bradford) will compete in all of the events, while Jon Miglin (North Warren, N.J.) competes in men's singles and doubles only.
During the regular season, Penn College team No. 1, consisting of Keeney, Garczynski, Miglin and Eckman, finished second in the open division. The co-ed team of Fazekas, Badger, Tolley and McMahon also finished second.
