Penn College Golfers Win Regular-Season PSUAC Crown

Pennsylvania College of Technology's golf team completed its fourth straight unbeaten regular season Monday, topping a six-team field to end 23-0, and captured the Penn State University Athletic Conference regular season crown. The college's four-year win streak is now 123-0.
Wildcat freshman T.C. Reynolds (Muncy) was medalist in the regular season-ending tourney at the Irem Temple Course in Wilkes-Barre with a 77. Shaun McQuay (Watsontown) and Craig Flint (Port Allegany) both shot 80s, Matt Winder (Montgomery) an 81 and Gibby Balliet (Watsontown) an 84. As a team, Penn College recorded a 318 and was followed by Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 342 and Penn State Mont Alto at 358.
The Wildcats are now idle until the PSUAC Championships Oct. 16-17 on the Penn State Blue Course.
"We have, probably, the most talented group of young men we've ever had here," said Chet Schuman, coach of the Wildcats. "It's incredible how strong we are this year."
"They all have played extremely well,"he continued, pointing out that, in each of the team's four multiteam events, Penn College golfers have been medalists.
"They represent the college well," Schuman added.
This is the second season in a row that Penn College has won the PSUAC regular season title last year, it went 20-0 in doing so. In 2004, the Wildcats won championships in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association and Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference with a 35-0 record and, in 2003, when their win streak began, they won the PCAA crown with a 45-0 record.
