Penn College Education Association Establishes Scholarship Fund

The organization representing full-time faculty, librarians and counselors at Pennsylvania College of Technology is further supporting students at the college by establishing an endowed scholarship fund.
The Penn College Education Association Scholarship Fund will generate at least two awards each year, one each for a male student and a female student. Applicants must be Pennsylvania residents enrolled full time in any major at sophomore status or above, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students who have received the award in prior years, with the awards renewable for up to four years.
"We have an excellent faculty at Penn College, and it gives me a great deal of pleasure to see the Penn College Education Association support this endowed scholarship fund for our students," said PCEA President James E. Temple. "This is just another example of what a caring faculty we have at Penn College."
The Penn College Education Association represents more than 300 full-time teaching faculty, librarians and counselors. The PCEA's new scholarship fund comes at the end of a fiscal year in which the annual Penn College Fund Employee Campaign received a record total of $101,630 in donations.
"The dedication of our faculty to the success of our students is evident every day," said Davie Jane Gilmour, president of Penn College. "It's an honor to know that so many are going above and beyond what they do as employees to become philanthropic supporters of our students."
The Penn College Education Association Scholarship Fund will begin generating awards for students in the Fall 2012 semester.
Penn College is a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University, committed to applied technology education. Nearly 6,300 students are enrolled in bachelor-degree, associate-degree and certificate majors relating to more than 100 career areas.
