"The Penn College Dance-a-Thon," tagged the "Dance for Hope," will be held from 6 p.m. Friday, March 30, to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in Penn's Inn in the Bush Campus Center.

"It's wonderful to see students so dedicated and engaged in such a wonderful cause," said Cassie M. Pickens, assistant director of programming for the Student Activities Office. "Students from the Student Government Association, Residence Hall Association and Wildcat Events Board have been instrumental in developing this event."

Student participants who will don their dancing shoes for music ranging from salsa and swing to country and Hawaiian are enlisting sponsors to raise at least $50 each for the charity. Nondancers also are invited to attend with a $5 admission, and faculty/staff and students are invited to purchase luminaries that will line the sidewalk outside the Campus Center that night.

"Penn College is thrilled to offer its students the opportunity to have an enjoyable evening, while supporting a cause most everyone has been affected by in one way or another: the fight against cancer," Pickens said. "Whether you are honoring the memory of a loved one lost, dancing in support of those currently battling cancer, or coming out to support friends and have a good time, there is a place for everyone at this year's 'Dance for Hope.'"
