Forestry instructor Jack Fisher provided a thorough tour of the mill, lumber yard and dry kiln for the students. He discussed topics that are emphasized in his Forest Products class that relate to the construction industry, such as hardwood lumber grades, lumber manufacturing (sawing) and kiln drying.

Some of the lumber produced at the Earth Science Center, both hardwood and softwood, is used in the School of Construction and Design Technologies' classes on the main campus.
