Penn College Commencement Ceremonies Set for Dec. 21

Nearly 300 students have petitioned to graduate in Pennsylvania College of Technology's December Commencement ceremonies, scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 21 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.

Dale A. Metzker, recipient of the 2002 Master Teacher Award the highest honor awarded to a member of the Penn College faculty will deliver the commencement address.

Metzker, who retired in May, began his career at Penn College in 1963 as a production printer at the College's predecessor institution, Williamsport Technical Institute. He had been a student in W.T.I.'s Offset and Letterpress Printer program. Metzker joined the College's faculty in 1966 after W.T.I. had become Williamsport Area Community College. He retired from Penn College as an associate professor of printing and publishing.

Delivering the student address will be Kristi L. Ritchey, Williamsport, a Culinary Arts Technology major.

Alumni Citizenship/Humanitarian Awards will be presented to two Penn College alumni who have demonstrated distinguished community or volunteer service.

Penn College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour will preside over the ceremonies and confer the degrees and certificates.

The ceremonies will be broadcast live in the Williamsport area on SusCom Cable Channel 2.
