Fresh off Wednesday's Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference championships, in which its women finished first and men second, the Pennsylvania College of Technology bowling team is in action this weekend with state titles on the line.

Competing at the Moshannon Valley Super Bowl in Phillipsburg in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association tournament are Wildcats Aaron Smith (Waynesboro), Eric Kennedy (Lewistown), Ian Hickey (Middleburg), Travis Rupert (Lock Haven), Paul Bouchard (Montoursville) and Tyler Weaver (Catawissa) on the men's team and Evelyn Furman (Montoursville), Brianne Burkland (Danville) and Rebecca Rudy (Lancaster) on the women's side.

Doubles and singles events are scheduled Saturday and team events on Sunday.

During EPCC action earlier in the week at Summit Lanes in Pocono Summit, Burkland, Rudy and Furman captured the women's Gold Division by 155 pins over Lehigh Carbon Community College. Burkland rolled a high 699 series.

Penn College's No. 1 men's team of Smith, Peter Stuut (Williamsport), Weaver, Bouchard and Kennedy, the latter subbing one game after an injury to a starter, combined for a 2,453 in the Blue Division, but fell by 97 pins to Northampton Community College's black team. Smith had a high 279 game on the day.

"We are in good shape and should do well," coach Deb Vincenzes said of her men's squad headed into the state event. "However, the women do not have a full team competing, so they will be unable to win the overall championship "¦ and will compete only in singles and doubles."
