Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball teams split in their games last week while the wrestling team’s match scheduled for Thursday was postponed.

Men's Basketball
It may not seem like much to many, but, when the Wildcats beat Penn State DuBois, 113-99, at home on Wednesday, it marked the first time in seven seasons that they won their season opener. The last time Penn College started the season with a win was in 2009, a 102-96 victory over Central Penn College. That season, it went on to win its first two, en route to a 14-14 campaign.

On Wednesday, Ben Sosa, of Loyalsock Township, led six Wildcat players scoring in double figures with 26 points. He also pulled down 10 rebounds. Among the others in double digits for the winners were Marquis Delgado, of Mansfield, with 16; Tyree Vidal, of Williamsport, with 15; and Shaekwon Grant-Wheeler, of East Stroudsburg, with 14. Penn College bolted to a 63-49 halftime lead and ended the game with 38 points in the paint, 21 points coming off 23 Penn State DuBois turnovers and 47 bench points.

Women's Basketball
In its season opener on Wednesday at Thiel College, Alicia Ross, of Williamsport, and Maddie Wenk, of Biglerville, each scored 13 points for the Wildcats in a 68-43 loss.
