Penn College Basketball Teams Split Before Semester Break

In a light week as the fall semester came to a close, Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball teams split in their home games against Central Penn College on Monday.



FLASHBACK
Men’s Basketball
The Wildcats led 7-0 and 14-6 early in the game and the contest was tied six times in the first half, the last at 26-all, before Central Penn opened a 48-40 halftime lead. Penn College pulled back to within two at 52-50 in the second half, but could get no closer as Central Penn opened leads of 15 points twice before going on to win, 98-88. Marquis Delgado, of Mansfield, scored 13 points and dished out nine assists for the Wildcats while Nathaniel Brown, of Philadelphia, also scored 13 points and Tom Ross, of Williamsport, and Ezra Adams, of Muncy, each added 12 and Bryce Lonsway, of Tiffin, Ohio, scored 10. The loss drops Penn College to 1-9. Penn College is off for the holidays and returns to action at 3 p.m. Jan. 11 hosting Penn State Fayette.

Women’s Basketball
Freshman Addie Jordan, of Muncy Valley, scored a personal season-high 18 points and four other Penn College players scored in double figures as the Wildcats topped Central Penn, 79-70, to improve to 2-8 overall. Danielle Mowery, of Shamokin, and Margaret Dewire, of Beaver Springs, who each scored 14 points while and Niesha Williams, of Loyalsock Township, and Charese Bova, of Beech Creek, each added 11. Bova also had 16 rebounds. In a contest where there were 17 lead changes and ties, Penn College outscored its opponent 16-6 over the final 3:35 of the game, including 7-0 in the last 30 seconds, for the win. The Wildcats now are idle until Jan. 9 when they travel to SUNY Morrisville for a 1 p.m. encounter.
