Penn College Basketball Teams Have Rough Week

It was a rough week for Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball teams as the men lost twice and the women three times.

Men’s Basketball
Stepping up against NCAA Division II Mansfield University on Monday, Penn College lost, 103-60. Turnovers plagued the Wildcats as they committed 31, with Mansfield turning them into 36 points. Thomas Ross, of Williamsport, led the Wildcats in scoring with 11 points. James Boylan, of Newton, N.J., had seven rebounds for Penn College.

Playing at home Thursday for the first time this season, the Wildcats opened a 29-22 first-half lead against Williamson Trade School, but faltered down the stretch in a 63-55 loss that dropped their record to 0-4. Ross led Penn College with 12 points and nine rebounds while Nate Brown, of Philadelphia, scored 10 points.

Women’s Basketball
A young Penn College team committed 33 turnovers in a Tuesday night 84-26 home-opening loss to Arcadia University. Addie Jordan, of Muncy Valley, led the Wildcats’ offense with nine points.

Back in action at home Thursday against Alfred (N.Y.) State, Penn College turned the ball over 40 times and lost, 69-34. Alison Van Metter, of Saylorsburg; Margaret Dewire, of Beaver Springs; and Chelsea Burger, of Millersburg, each scored seven points for the Wildcats.

On Saturday at Pitt-Titusville, Penn College scored a season-high 58 points and Charese Bova, of Beech Creek, tallied a personal season-high 14 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent an 84-58 loss that dropped the Wildcats to 0-5.
