Penn College Appoints Director of Physician Assistant Program

Lynn Eckrote has been named director of the Physician Assistant Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Eckrote, who had served as a clinical director before being named interim director of the program, began her employment at Penn College in 2014.
“The same high level of enthusiasm, collaboration, dedication and professionalism Lynn brought to our clinical directorship will translate well in her new role as program director,” said Edward A. Henninger, dean of the college’s School of Health Sciences. “We fully expect that Lynn will make a positive and lasting impact on the program’s mission of producing high-quality health professionals who contribute effective, evidence-based and compassionate care.”
In addition to her Penn College experience, Eckrote has held the position of physician assistant for Prison Health Services at State Correctional Institution Dallas; Geisinger Health System’s Kistler Clinic; the Department of Veterans Affairs; Northeast Counseling Services; and Commonwealth Health’s First Hospital, where she continues on a per diem basis.
She holds Master of Science in physician assistant studies from King’s College and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Penn State. She holds a Pennsylvania Medical License and Osteopathic Medical License, is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and holds credentials from the Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care Program and End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium.
Eckrote resides in Drums with her husband, Kevin, and children Mickenzie and Michael. She is the daughter of Mary Louise Acri and the late Michael Acri.
Penn College offers a bachelor’s degree in physician assistant. Physician assistants are health professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision.
