Penn College Appoints Director of Financial Aid

Candace S. Baran Candace S. Baran has been named director of financial aid at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Baran, formerly a director of professional and community education for Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, succeeds Dennis L. Correll, who was appointed to the new position of associate dean of admissions and financial aid in June.

Baran has been in workforce development with Penn College since 1989. Prior to joining the college, she was employed at American Home Foods, Milton, and Andritz Sprout-Bauer, Muncy.

Baran holds a master's degree in business administration from Bloomsburg University. She earned a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University and an associate degree from Penn College's immediate predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College.

"Ms. Baran brings a wealth of information-technology and project-management experience, along with a true commitment to customer service," Correll said. "These skills will benefit students and parents as they go through the financial-aid process. For many, the financial-aid process can be daunting, but providing good customer service with efficient processes will ease their minds and their stress levels."
