“All work and no play” makes for an unbalanced and unhealthy campus experience, so Penn College annually offers “PC3” during the first three weeks of the fall semester – an invitingly eclectic sampling of activities tailor-made for stress-relieving study breaks. Kicking Grass Kickball (Aug. 19); Hot Dog, You’re Here! (Aug. 23); Goat Yoga (Aug. 25) and Casino Night (Aug. 26) were among this season’s collaborative offerings to help Wildcats get to know their new friends and neighbors … and to introduce PCToday readers to more of our students’ pictorial aptitude.

A Dropkick Murphys fan adds some Celtic “kick” of his own to the spirited outdoor proceedings …

… and is helped to his feet in most sportsmanlike fashion.

Thursday twilight is just the ticket for a kickball tournament on Penn College’s beautifully maintained green space.

It’s all in the wrist for Jeremy R. Bottorf, coordinator of campus recreation – and one heck of a pitcher – as he sends another one toward the kicker.

Daisy, Timothy O. Rissel’s Labrador retriever, seemingly awaits the green light to mingle. Rissel, executive director of General Services, was among the employees who brought their dogs to campus to ease new students’ separation from their own pets.

Collapsible, portable dog bowls were provided to the evening’s guests …

… and got a canine seal of approval from Winnie, a golden retriever owned by Drew R. Potts, assistant professor of civil engineering technology.

Counseling Services’ Linda L. Locher interacts with students at the event, which was moved indoors due to a threatening forecast.

Bridgette R. Snyder’s mini-Goldendoodle, Libby, makes a friend in the Field House. Snyder is secretary to Public Relations & Marketing.

Too adorable for words, so we’ll only say, “Meet Jake and Sadie, a pair of Labrador retrievers belonging to Tanya L. Shipman, duplicating and finishing technician in Printing and Document Services.”

A hands-on opportunity, this one therapeutic, presents itself outside the classroom.

“Hugs! Hugs! Come and get ’em!” says Maggie, accompanied by Jen M. Baker, financial aid specialist.

As if cute pooches weren’t enough of a draw, Bruster’s brought ice cream …

… a treat that attracted many on a summer evening, including Audriana L. Empet (left) and Jen. M. Cullin-Hetrick from the Admissions Office.

Lauryn A. Stauffer, an automation engineering technology: robotics and automation major from Bath, steals a snuggly smooch.

Fun fact: Goat Yoga generates nearly as many selfies as it does smiles …

… or maybe it’s a tie.

Participants raise their legs while goats lift their spirits.

These kids are more than “alright.”

Whatever the pose is supposed to be – cat, cow or dog – let’s just call this one “goat.”

Lemme get this straight: It’s a goat on a goat-themed yoga mat during “Goat Yoga.” Got it.
