'Cat Tales Men's Basketball Penn College built a 14-point halftime lead against Luzerne County Community College on Wednesday, but it took a short shot by Tony Flint with 4.5 seconds remaining and a missed Luzerne attempt as time expired for the Wildcats to pull out the victory. Ken Vialet (Manhattan, N.Y.) led Penn College with 25 points and eight assists, while Flint (Port Allegany) added 15 points and Joe Walker (Williamsport) 13. Adam Walker (Williamsport) pulled down 11 rebounds as the Wildcats evened their season record at 5-5.

Vialet scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Penn State Delaware. Also scoring in double digits for the Wildcats were Joe Walker (14), Moore (13) and Flint (10). The contest began a stretch of 13 consecutive Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference games that Penn College will play before closing out its regular season.

Penn State Abington is the three-time defending CCAC champion and Penn College found out why in a 19-point loss to close out the week. The Wildcats played their opponent tough in the first half, trailing by only two. But Penn State Abington pulled away in the second half while improving to 13-2 overall and 10-0 in the conference. Flint topped Penn College scorers with a personal season-high 20 points while Moore added 15 and Vialet 13. Joe Walker had eight rebounds for the Wildcats.

Women's Basketball After a 30-day break since its last game, the Penn College women's team returned to the court at Lehigh-Carbon and won. Katlyn Stupar (State College) led the Lady Wildcats offensively with 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Jen Racho (Hazleton) scored 12 for Penn College.

In just her second game since transferring from Lycoming College and joining the team after the semester break, Brittany Blessard (Bucktail) scored 24 points to lead a balanced attack that saw the Lady Wildcats roll over Luzerne County Community College. Stupar and Racho each added 21 points for Penn College and Natalie Plavi (Elderton) scored 16. Stupar added 20 rebounds and forced seven steals while Plavi dished out 10 assists.

Blessard is a 5-foot-5 guard who coach Ron Kodish calls "a great addition to the team."

Not only will Blessard's offensive contribution take pressure off Stupar, who controls the inside, but, according to her coach, she is a great defensive player who "gives us a lot of diversity on the perimeter."
