Nursing Faculty Member Selected as Link With Professional Group

Jane J. BenedictJane J. Benedict, associate professor of nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been selected by the National League for Nursing to serve as the organization's ambassador to Penn College.

As an NLN ambassador a new program for the league Benedict will ensure that Penn College nursing faculty are informed about the league's initiatives and the opportunities available to them for research grants, reduced program-registration fees, reduced rates on NLN testing products and certification, among others.

Additionally, she is charged with facilitating communication with the NLN about emerging trends, needs and concerns at the college, which the league plans to use in the design of future educational programs, position statements and other initiatives.

"The NLN Ambassador Program is an important initiative for the National League for Nursing as we work together to help the nursing education community advance excellence in and transform nursing education," Antoinette Bargagliotti, president of NRN, wrote in a letter announcing Benedict's selection.

Benedict has taught at Penn College for 13 years. She holds a master's degree in nursing from The Pennsylvania State University, and she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from College Misericordia.
