Nursing Faculty Member Earns Master's Degree

Barbie D. HooverBarbie D. Hoover, instructor of nursing programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University.

Through her capstone synthesis, she developed a distance education course called Transcultural Nursing in Health Care.

Hoover is a 1982 graduate of the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing and holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Lycoming College. She has experience in leadership/management, oncology, medical-surgical nursing, emergency nursing, critical-care nursing and long-term care.

She taught part time in the nursing program at Penn College for 11 years before joining the full-time faculty in January 2009. In 2001, she was presented the college's Part-Time Teaching Excellence Award.
