Noe Named Nonfiction Editor for Sport Literature Journal

Mark D. NoeAn English-composition professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology was recently named the nonfiction editor for Aethlon: The Journal of Sport Literature.

Mark D. Noe, a longtime Aethlon editorial board member, will begin his duties as editor with the journal's 28th volume. Aethlon is designed to celebrate the intersection of literature with the world of play, games and sport.

As nonfiction editor, Noe will be responsible for scholarly and critical essays on sport literature and cultural-studies approaches to sports texts, as well as creative nonfiction.

Aethlon is published by the Sport Literature Association, of which Noe is an active member. He is a past president, has served as program chair of the association's annual conference and has twice hosted that conference at Penn College.

The Sport Literature Association is an international organization devoted to the study of sport in literature and culture. It is an affiliate of the American Literature Association.

Noe holds a doctorate in 19th-century studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Most of his recent work has concentrated on 20th-century American writers. His published writings include critical essays and personal memoir. They have appeared in a variety of journals and books.
