Nichols Nominated to Board, Attends National Conference

Dr. Edward (Ted) C. Nichols, assistant dean for Pennsylvania College of Technology’s North Campus, has been nominated by the Combined Board of County Commissioners for Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming counties to serve on the regional Workforce Investment Board.

The WIB provides leadership, oversight, resource coordination, and technical assistance for workforce development programs in response to regional needs. Activities include the newly established TEAM PA! CareerLink, Youth Councils, and other public education and training programs.

Final appointment is pending approval and certification by the Pennsylvania Human Resources Investment Council.

In addition, Nichols attended the National Association of Student Personnel Administrator’s Higher Education conference, held recently in New Orleans. The conference featured national keynote speakers and work sessions on issues vital to college and university management including the use and impact of technology, development of marketable skills, student health and values, and crisis prevention and response.

As Pennsylvania’s premier technical college, Penn College seeks to ensure that faculty and staff remain current in their areas of expertise through business and industry involvement and continuing professional development.
