New Penn College Video Showcases Four-Year Electronics Major

The rewarding opportunities available in electronics and computer engineering technology are explored in the latest video added to Pennsylvania College of Technology’s YouTube channel.

The three-minute video highlights the bachelor-degree major through the eyes of Jorgette N. Grosso, of Boonton, N.J., a 2012 graduate.

Grosso serves as a role model for young women interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers. The possibilities offered by that career cluster are apparent throughout the video as Grosso navigates her final semester at college and completes her senior project: an autonomous color-tracking robot.



Jorgette N. GrossoThe electronics and computer engineering technology major at Penn College emphasizes a high level of quantitative and analytical skills with a strong emphasis on hands-on, technical work. Graduates are in high demand to fill positions such as engineering technician, field service engineer and application engineer.

According to the most recent graduate survey, the average starting salary for electronics and computer engineering technology graduates from Penn College is between $45,000 and $50,000.

Prior to graduation, Grosso accepted a position as a system application engineer with Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management. Schneider Electric operates in more than 100 countries. Grosso is working for the company in the Philadelphia area.

The Penn College YouTube Channel has collected more than 370,000 video views since debuting in 2009. The channel offers student and alumni profiles, news items, and unique college stories. It also includes full-length episodes of the college’s award-winning, career-awareness public television series, “degrees that work.tv.
