Military Aircraft Delivers Rare Opportunity for Public Access

Fischer III, enrolled in plastics and polymer technology A smooth takeoff A CH-47 Chinook helicopter landed on The Madigan Library lawn Thursday morning, offering the campus community a closer look at the 100-foot-long military transport craft. Operated by the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and sponsored by Penn College Army ROTC, the twin-engine, tandem-rotor helicopter attracted much attention in his three-hour stay.
