Media Watchdogs Hold Election-Year Debate


Jeff Cohen Nicholas Chaudoin, chair of SGA's elections committee, moderates Wednesday's debate Cliff Kincaid With presidential politics on the minds of many students and the media entrusted with helping potential voters arrive at their candidates of choice two of the country’s top media critics squared off Wednesday in Klump Academic Center on the topic of “How the Media Can Sway Votes and Win Elections.” The event, sponsored by the Student Government Association and Student Activities, featured a debate by writer, lecturer and media critic Jeff Cohen, the founder of Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting, and veteran journalist/media critic Cliff Kincaid, editor of the AIM Report for Accuracy in Media.
