Dr. William W. MaDr. William W. Ma, associate professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, wrote research papers that were published recently in two international journals of mathematics.

The first paper, "Two-point distortion theorems for hyperbolically convex functions," appeared in the 49th volume, Revue Roumaine de Mathematiques Pures et Appliquees (Romanian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics). The other paper, "Hyperbolically 1-convex functions," appeared in the 84th volume of Annales Polonici Mathematici (published by the Institute of Mathematics at the Polish Academy of Sciences).

Dr. Ma was also invited to speak at the joint meeting of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America, where he presented "Metric properties of hyperbolic polar coordinates." The meeting was held Jan. 5-8 in Atlanta.

Dr. Ma earned his doctorate at the University of Cincinnati and has taught mathematics at Penn College for almost 12 years. Overall, he has published 43 research papers and given 19 invited presentations at international and national conferences.
