Martial Arts Club Travels to West Chester for Weekend Tourney

Five members of the Penn College Martial Arts Club traveled to West Chester University on Saturday, performing well in a Shotokan Karate Tournament held by the East Coast Collegiate Karate Union. Jeremy P. Hansen, of Williamsport; Jonathan E. Harris, of Danville; Alexander J. Hilton, of Saegertown; Mathew D. Johnson, of Saylorsburg; and Jonel A. Murray, of Brooklyn, N.Y. , competed for the college – all but Johnson for the first time. Murray placed third in the beginner’s kumite (sparring) division. Next up for the club is a tournament at Temple University on Feb. 9, followed by the collegiate camp at Penn College on Feb. 23-24.
