Donald R. Nibert, an assistant professor of forestry who retired in 2009 after a 40-year teaching career at Williamsport Area Community College and Pennsylvania College of Technology, died Sunday, Feb. 26, at the age of 80.
He earned a bachelor's degree in forestry from the University of West Virginia; did graduate work at Penn State; and was actively involved with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Society of American Foresters, and as a member of Montoursville Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at McCarty-Thomas', (formerly Spitler's), 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Friends may call there from 6-8 p.m. Friday or 1-2 p.m. Saturday. A full obituary has been posted to the funeral home's website .
