Mandatory Direct Deposit Expanded to Include Part-Time Employees

You may be aware that the college is implementing mandatory direct deposit of payroll for all full-time faculty and staff. To further the effort to improve operating efficiencies, contain costs and help reduce the impact of operating costs on tuition, the college is implementing mandatory direct deposit of payroll for all part-time faculty and staff including student employees effective with the Feb. 2 payday, according to William J. Martin, senior vice president, and Robert M. Fisher, vice president for business affairs.

Employees currently taking advantage of direct deposit do not need to do anything regarding this requirement. Part-time employees not currently using direct deposit need to provide the following information to the Payroll Office no later than 9 a.m. Jan. 19:

  • Bank name
  • Bank account number
  • Bank routing number

This information, along with a Direct Deposit form (being sent to employees by the Payroll Office), should be given to Payroll by providing one of the following:

  • A voided check for the account to which the employee’s pay is to be deposited
  • A copy of a check
  • A deposit slip from the employee’s checkbook

For security reasons, please do not send blank checks via unsealed, nonconfidential interoffice mail. The best way to provide the information is to personally visit the Payroll Office (SASC, Room2028) with your paperwork. (Your original check will be returned to you.) Employees who have not provided the required information will need to personally visit the Payroll Office onFeb. 2 in order to pick up their paychecks. Employees needing to establish a bank account may, if they desire, contact Charles Duda (ext. 7257) for assistance in doing so.

Alsoeffective Feb. 2,pay stubs no longer will be mailed to home addresses, but will be distributed via interoffice mail. Reminder: Employees also may view their individual pay-stub informationon the AS/400 and on the Web-based Employee Information System .

Questions about this process may be directed to Sharon DiMichele (ext. 7258), Duda or Suzanne Stopper (ext. 7250).
