Calkins, a Student Ambassador and second-year Resident Assistant in Campus View Apartments, is a member of the Penn College softball team and a former member of the Wildcat Dance Team.

“Maggie has shown great promise and dedication to her floor and to our complex,” her Residence Life nominator wrote. “She has contributed programs, such as Random Acts of Kindness, which included college and community service throughout the week.”

A responsible and highly involved student leader who maintains the difficult balance between academics and extracurricular activities, Calkins carries a high GPA in a demanding health sciences major.

“Maggie is a very nice person who cares about students and policies, and continues to advocate and be a voice for those students,” her nominator continued.

The Student Government Association honor is bestowed numerous times each academic year based on commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement. Nominations from faculty/staff and other students are strongly encouraged.
