Look Before You Throw That Trash!

As Penn College’s weekly Green Tip feature resumes, the Energy Conservation Subcommittee notes that campus trash receptacles are labeled with “Trash Only” and nearby single-stream recycling containers are marked with all the items that can be placed therein. Recyclables include any numbered plastic including numbered foam cups any paper product that you can write on with a pen; and aluminum, steel or glass containers. Increasing recycling lowers the college’s costs for waste removal, reminds Rick Taylor, chair of the subcommittee; send him an email with any ideas for future energy-saving advice.
