Librarian, Faculty Member Collaborate With Research University

Tracey AmeyAsesh K. DasA librarian and a professor of computer science at Pennsylvania College of Technology jointly released a research paper at the 2010 World Congress in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Applied Computing.

Tracey Amey, librarian for digital initiatives at the college's Madigan Library, and Asesh K. Das, a faculty member in the School of Business and Computer Technologies, shared the results of their research in "Context Modeling With Adaptive Intelligence How Can It Help in Designing Digital Library Architecture?" at the WORLDCOMP2010 conference in Las Vegas.

In the paper, the authors discussed creation of online library operations and how they can be made accessible to all types of users. The research, the second phase of which is in development, was performed in collaboration with a team at West Virginia University.

A Penn College employee since Spring 2005, Amey also is the subject liaison for building and construction, architectural technology, and computer science. She holds a master's degree in library science from Rutgers University and a bachelor's degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. She also has worked for Congress in Washington, D.C., and in academic libraries along the New Jersey shore.

A member of the Penn College faculty since 1994, Das holds a doctorate from Visva-Bharati University, earned master's degrees from North Bengal University and Florida Institute of Technology, and has a bachelor's degree from Calcutta University.
