Wine Spectator magazine recently released its annual Restaurant Guide, again naming Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Le Jeune Chef Restaurant among the “Award of Excellence” recipients.

The world's best wine lists are featured in this annual guide, which presents the winners in the magazine’s Restaurant Awards program. Hailing from all 50 states and more than 75 countries, the establishments that made the list stand at the forefront of wine-and-food culture, offering extraordinary experiences for oenophiles across the globe, according to the magazine.

Wine Spectator honors college againWine Spectator grants its Restaurant Awards at three levels. The Award of Excellence, received by Le Jeune Chef, is given to lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.

Le Jeune Chef’s wine list offers 475 selections, encompassing major varieties from the world’s key wine-producing regions. It has been recognized in the Wine Spectator Restaurant Guide each year since 1995.

A robust wine list provides opportunities for the hospitality management and culinary arts students who gain hands-on experience in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant to learn about wine service and food-and-wine pairings, and it benefits patrons who wish to learn more about wine.

To receive a Wine Spectator award, a restaurant must offer a list that includes wines appropriate to its cuisine while appealing to a wide range of wine lovers. The list also must present complete and accurate wine information.

Wine Spectator’s 2015 Restaurant Guide is published in the Aug. 31 issue, available on newsstands now. A total of 91 Pennsylvania restaurants are recognized on the list, including Williamsport’s DiSalvo’s restaurant and Lewisburg’s Elizabeth’s, An American Bistro.
