Joshua W. Brunk Named ‘Student of the Month’

Joshua W. BrunkJoshua W. Brunk, scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in hospitality management, has been chosen as the Student Government Association’s latest Student of the Month.

The Richmond, N.H., resident has been highly involved as a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, most recently as co-founder and co-president of the American Sign Language Club. When his peers expressed interest in learning to sign, his nominator noted, Brunk helped complete the paperwork necessary to start the new student organization and draft its constitution.

Brunk has served as SkillsUSA chapter president, as an SGA senator for the School of Hospitality, as vice president of the Residence Hall Association and in a number of volunteer capacities on campus. He still sits as a member of the College and Community Coalition, the International Advisory Council and the Student Staff Judicial Council.

When not involved with student organizations, he is a work-study student in Disability Services and a student intern in the college’s Food Services department.

“I believe Josh is a great leader and role model for all Penn College students,” his nominator wrote. “He has dedicated his time and talent to the (college) community and has put hours beyond what a normal student would do for their school.”

SGA selects its “Student of the Month” based on commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement. Nominations from faculty/staff and other students are strongly encouraged.
