Jessica R. LarsonJessica R. Larson, of Williamsport, scheduled to graduate magna cum laude in December with a bachelor's degree in business administration: marketing concentration, was chosen as October's Student of the Month by the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Jessica was a member of the Penn College archery team in the 2005-06 season, during which she was named "Female Compound Rookie of the Year." SGA offered her additional opportunities for college involvement, first as a member of the Advertising Committee and later as vice president of public relations.

She has served as a member of the college's Long Range Planning Committee, the One College Avenue Advisory Committee and the College Judicial Council. She is a recipient of the Awesome Woman Exemplar Award and the Penn College Award, and is a consistent Dean's List honoree. She has received two academic scholarships and was inducted in April into two honor societies: Alpha Chi and Delta Mu Delta, the latter of which she serves as president.

"With all she has going on, Jessica continues to work as our Student Health Assistant in Student Health Services each week," her nominator wrote. "We have grown accustomed to having Jessica's help, smiling face and laughter in our office since May 2009, and we will greatly miss her when she graduates."

The Student of the Month is selected seven times each academic year based on commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement. Nominations from faculty/staff and other students are strongly encouraged.
