"Works on Paper" an exhibition of watercolor paintings by Carol Schwartz, will be on display Nov. 7-24 at Pennsylvania College of Technology's 202 Gallery.

Schwartz, a Wellsboro-area resident, is an instructor of advertising art at Penn College and a painter of woodland interiors, agricultural environments and flower gardens. She paints exclusively on-site, and the resulting paintings resonate with reflected light and color. The exhibit also will include new watercolors of flowering plants, which Schwartz paints in her studio during the winter months.

Schwartz is a graduate of the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, where she received a bachelor's degree in photography. She received her teaching credentials from Moore College of Art. Initially a fine-art photographer and photojournalist, she began working as a landscape painter in 1971 and as a printmaker in 1973. She has received numerous awards for her painting, including the Philadelphia Watercolor Prize.

The opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Viewing hours for the show will be by appointment only, except for Fridays, when the gallery will be open to the public from noon to 5 p.m.

Appointments will be taken (for groups of three or more) no less than two days in advance. For an appointment, call 326-3761, ext. 7675.

The 202 Gallery is located on the south end of the second floor of the Bush Campus Center at Penn College .
