Dana D. Gordon, an IMC business advisor, has been certified under the Galliard Group Family Business Advisor Level One training program, which equips her with comprehensive tools to assist family-owned and closely held businesses.

“There are many family-owned manufacturing companies in the IMC region, and we are very pleased to have Dana trained to support them with organizational and succession needs,” said W. Alan Gehringer, IMC executive director/chief executive officer. “Dana's skills will complement the two other Family Business Advisors on staff as the IMC promotes growth and prosperity in the region.”

Dana D. GordonIMC, one of Pennsylvania’s seven Industrial Resource Centers and one of the nation’s 70 Manufacturing Extension Partnership organizations, is based at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Center for Business & Workforce Development in Williamsport.

The philosophy behind the Galliard Group Family Business Advisor program is to allow transition of a business with dignity intact. The advisors work to help the business create an exit strategy, succession plan and build an advisory board not only as a means to transition the business, but also to help create a clear road map of how the business will operate to reach its goals.

It is estimated that 95 percent of all businesses in the United States are family-owned or closely held and that, within five years, 65 percent of those owners expect to transition out of their businesses.

Having completed Family Business Advisor training and becoming a member of the Galliard Family Business Advisor Network, Gordon will be further engaged in assisting family-owned and closely held businesses in developing transition plans and creating the strategy unique to each company to achieve the desired outcome.

The Galliard Group partners closely with clients to build viable, sustainable businesses that contribute to the economic and social health of their employees, clients and communities.
