This week’s death of Herman Boone, the high school football coach who inspired Disney’s “Remember the Titans” movie, brought to mind his January 2018 speech at Penn College as part of that year’s Martin Luther King observance. The visit was featured in a PCToday photo gallery, as well as WBRE/WYOU and Williamsport Sun-Gazette news coverage. Boone, who led his T.C. Williams High School team to a Virginia state championship in 1971, died Wednesday in Alexandria, Va., at age 84.
