Monica J. LanczakFor the third time, Monica J. Lanczak, instructor of food and hospitality management/culinary arts at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be honored in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers."

Lanczak's biography will appear in the ninth edition of the book, to be published in October. It also appeared in the 2002 and 2004 editions.

Teachers who are honored in the book have been nominated by a former student. Students listed in "Who's Who Among American High School Students," "Who's Who Among American High School Students Sports Edition" and "The National Dean's List" are invited to nominate a former teacher who has contributed significantly to their success and growth.

"To be nominated by a student who feels you have been a part of their success is a motivating and rewarding experience," Lanczak said.

According to "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," 5 percent of the nation's teachers are honored in each edition, and fewer than 2 percent are included in more than one edition. Lanczak also earned a Penn College Excellence in Teaching Award in 1997.

"It is an honor to be recognized by your students," Lanczak said. "It certainly means a lot to me, because that's why I'm here. I'm here for them."
