The annual Staff/Faculty vs. Students softball game took place Tuesday evening at Elm Park, where an employee squad got even against the Greeks. (Phi Mu Delta handed the team a 21-8 loss last April.) Representing Sigma Nu on this year's student team were Alex Martinez, Lynden Casner, Frank Meise, Bryann Bingaman, John Noviello, Brennana Devoe, Nick Mancuso, Ryan Enders, Keith Kohn, Chris Distasio and Khris Ward. Their opponents were the Chet Rogers, Barry Loner, Josh Allwein, Lizze Robinholt, Bryan Waltz, John Martin III, Tina Evans, Andy Gutkowski, Michael Richards and Michelle Mitchell. The Staff/Faculty team struck first with one run in the bottom of the first inning, but Sigma Nu evened the score during the top of the second. Richards hit a two-run homer to give the Staff/Faculty team a lead it would soon give up: Sigma Nu struck with four runs in the top of the third, a rally that began with a home run by Bingaman and consecutive base hits by Kohn, Enders, Meise, Distasio and Mancuso. After it was all said and done, Sigma Nu led 5-4 after two and a half innings. The Staff/Faculty team tied the game in the bottom of the fourth after a triple by Richards (who was a single shy of "hitting for the cycle"), then added three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings to win 11-6. "A big thanks to all who participated," said intramural assistant Jeremy Bottorf, who provided this recap, "and all who are looking forward to next year's game."
