Green Tip: Recycle Old Appliances to Save Energy, Landfill Space

    As part of the campuswide March Mania recycling effort, the Energy Conservation Subcommittee asks for support of appliance recycling to reduce energy and related costs and keep harmful materials out of landfills. Check out PPL's e-power Web site and the utility's program of "Rethinking, Recycling and Rewarding." The "spare" refrigerator or freezer inthe garage or basement could be costing as much as $150 per year. JACO Environmental (1-877-270-3522) will remove and recyclethat old, operating refrigerator or freezer for free air conditioners, too. Check the E-Power web site for more information, including rebate application.
