Approximately 50 exhibitors will display building products and services with a "green" orientation April 22-23 at Pennsylvania College of Technology for the "Penn College Green Building Fair."

The event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the Penn College Field House. Sponsors for the event are Centex Homes and the Sabre Radio Group.

James Wines, president and founder of SITE Environmental Design, distinguished professor of architecture at The New School for Social Research and visiting professor of landscape architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, will offer the keynote address at 3:30 p.m. April 23.

Those attending the fair including students, homeowners, and design and construction professionals will be able to visit continuously with exhibitors. They can also learn about alternative products, sustainable products and design, things to do to help the environment, current trends in building "green," and how to save energy and money.

Hourlong seminars will be offered, and American Institute of Architects continuing-education units will be available for the seminars and portions of the exhibit.

Green products and services emphasize a healthy environment for building occupants and/or the manufacturing process. They may reduce energy usage and take advantage of nature for heating, cooling and lighting. Green products may be made from recycled products and often are recycled when they wear out.

The Field House is located at the southwest corner of Penn College's main campus. Parking is available nearby.
