Erin B. Holbrook, Montrose, a Pennsylvania College of Technology student, designed the winning logo for the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce's upcoming technology exposition.

Her logo for "techxpo.99" will be used in national Chamber publicity and on its Web page prior to the event, which is scheduled for Dec. 8 in Penn College's new Field House. Holbrook, a Penn College graphic design student and 1997 graduate of Montrose Area High School, won $250 for her design.

According to the Chamber's mission statement, the expo is designed to increase awareness among the public and private sector of the applications of advanced technology by business and industry in Lycoming County. The winning logo with a blue-and-yellow color scheme appropriately depicts a globe, as College and chamber officials are hoping the event will help usher in a new world of economic development.

"With this trade show, we have the opportunity to open some eyes," said Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour, College president and co-chair of techxpo.99. "Many of our students work in technology internships locally, and this will help us to recruit new companies." About 70 technology companies are expected to be represented at techxpo.99.
